Default Newbie Help!

I mean real newbie!

I've heard people talking about this game so I thought I'd look into it, and see what I thought.

Just after knowing the difference between Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions? Are they different games or more like factions is an add on?

I used to play Neverwinter online many moons ago, but then dropped out of the online gaming. Now I'm looking to start again I'm after something along the same line. Just after advice on seeing if Guild Wars is the way to go!

Is it easy for beginners? As I'm the kind of player who will just be on for a few hours over the weekend and may be one or two evenings, is it going to take me ages to get a half decent character? That sort of thing!

Any help and advice would be great!

They are independant games as such, Factions is newer, and where most people are these days. As for ease of play, its not to bad.. lets just say, as with anything, the more you experience it, the easier it gets

Depends on the guild. We require that you be somewhat active but don't care what level you are and will help you with missions, information, etc. We'll even buy your first set of Droknar's Forge armor when you qualify!

Looking around at other sites as well, I'm kinda impressed! Think I may have to go find a copy in town!

I think it is a great game and recommend starting with the original Guild Wars, which is now known as Prophecies. It has a more gradual learning curve than does Factions and you can always add Factions later if you want.

Leveling up a new toon does not take forever, unlike some games, and a good guild can help you out on tough missions and such.

I agree with ^^ get prophecies first since you are new..its easier and CHEAPER now. If u dont like it your out less money....If u do like it...buy factions as an add on.

Yay for a fellow Neverwinterer... I was soo in love with the game (still play it now - check out my thread in the off-topic bit about NWN)

You will like this game trust me. It's not NWN but it is very good. As stated above get Prophecies first. A bit more to it in story terms, and a great into like playing Hordes without playing Neverwinter - oops missed the d out of hordes , as in you can do Factions no probs but it helps having a bit more experience of history etc. But if you are rich get both!! Money well spent.

Enjoy and if you want to meet up for NWN2 I'm game
